I am the librarian at Mahoney Middle School in South Portland. We are interested in hiring someone to do some readers theater workshops with 6th graders. We are thinking of having students adapt a story to readers theater or create one (thus a literacy component), practice, then perform it in an evening. I'm not even sure if this is the best way to begin! Any help you can give connecting us with some local resource people would be appreciated. Thank you.

Dear Fellow Players,

We at the School for the Blind are completing a unit in ELA on reader's theatre. The students are grades 7-12. We found your clip and it was great as it gave a great example of how to use the tools of inflection, enunciation, characterization and so on. Thank you for putting this on the web. For my students, real examples are crucial to their understanding.

Most sincerely,

Laura S. Ferguson ELA

Today we are starting our first readers' theater in fourth grade. The students really enjoyed the story "Three Wishes", and gained insight.

Thank you for the site, many in our district were blocked.
